Hinged on the fundamental query from Jeevan ji, is the reason for SMO SAR to exist!
G1 ji points out that, if we wait for a close above 5DHEMA or below 5DLEMA & then further wait for 5-10DEMA x-over, then we end up lose a few pts, to LATE ENTRY!
I SAY YES , HE IS ABSOLUTELY CORRECT. But SMO SAR is designed to catch W3 or Wave C, so the LATE ENTRY is more than COMPENSATED for by ACCURACY !!!
My whole aim when I came out wid the SMO SAR Algo was the following:-
1. Trading Efficiency: I.e Minimum Trades, min whipsaws, & min Re-ENTRIES after SL
2. Maximising Gain
Q: Y so?
Ans: As I cannot trade INTRADAY EEVRYDAY (due to office pressures), SMO SAR was designed for SWING TRADES (where i can quickly sneak a peek @ the market during lunch time, breaks , so on & so forth)!
SMO SAR derives inspiration from Illango ji's JNSAR. His system proposes thus:
1. When Price closes above 5 LEMA : BUY on DIPS , SL : 5DLEMA-0.1%,
2. When Price closes above 5 HEMA : BUY & HOLD , SL : 5DLEMA-0.1%
3. When Price closes BELOW 5 HEMA : SELL on RISE, SL : 5DHEMA+0.1%
3. When Price closes BELOW 5 LEMA : SELL & HOLD, SL : 5DHEMA+0.1%
Exit: When price either hits JNSAR or 10EMA
These 4 rules of JNSAR are fantastic in their own right, BUT...
BUT,
1. Trades require minute by minute observation, since one can get SLed out, due to whipsaws!
2.Trader has be vigilantly tracking 5Hi & 5Lo EMA & trend to Re-Enter every 15 mins. Else he will get confused on what position to take ?
SUMMARY:
The JNSAR system works fantastically well for the FULL TIME TRADER
For a SWING TRADER, who places a PREMIUM on ACCURACY of TREND, the SMO SAR scores
because:
1. It catches the BIGGEST in each T/F : ie Wave C or Wave 3
2. It filters out WHIPSAWS of Minute Degree (by the 5-10DEMA x-over)
3. Allows one to trail the TREND right up to the very end (exit when change in SIGN of SLOPE (dy/dx) of the 5EMA curve)
!Q: Which system should you use for trade??
!Ans: Ur choice to make , my friend. In the price Battle, a warrior should chooses a weapon to suit his "technique" , "ability" & "mentality" :-)
cheers

Dear Shri ji,
ReplyDeleteVery nice post as I expected.
I am also silent follower of Sir Illango ji's blog but can not understand JNSAR and J 10 SAR till date and it is only due to lack of my poor study.
I came to know this system when you posted about 5hema, 5lema, 5cema and 5-9ema. I observed all this on nifty chart from that day... say from 21 Jan 2012 and came to the coclusion which I posted here before few minutes.
Thanks lot to Sir Illango ji for this study and thanks to you for making it crystal clear and easy to understand for me.
Will you please provide some details about J 10 sar?
Thank you.
Good luck.
Jeevan.
Dear G1 ji,
ReplyDelete1. J.10SAR = 10EMA of closing price (can be 10hrEMA, 10DEMA, 10WEMA depending on the Time Frame that we are using)
2. JNSAR is a propietery value which Illango ji has kept withheld.
My personal view is one should go back to the ROOT of Maths & mot worry too much bout JNSAR.
When 5DEMA changes Direction of slope (i.e dy/dx, changes sign), that is a good enough SIGNAL to EXIT.
It has to be clubbed along with Distance from 20DSMA & 5LEMA -10DEMA x-over!
Pls see all my previous posts esp "Finer pts to identify variations in trends"
Hope u find the answer :-)

Dear Shri ji,
ReplyDeleteThank you very much for details.
It means instead of 9ema we should use 10ema. That means it is a combination of 5 cema, 5 lema,
5hema and 10 cema. Am I correct?
If not please explain.
This system is good for intraday traders as well as for positional traders. I think positional traders should wait for ema(5-10)
crossover. What do you say about this statement?
Anyway...it is nice to have a healthy discussion with you on this study which is good.
I am looking for the ""FOLLOW"" Link which is not seen anywhere in your blog. Why it is so my dear?
I am sorry but one important suggestion from me if you do not mind...please try to make everything simple..including
TA study...and you will be happy.
Ok...wish you good luck.
Thank you.
Regards.
Jeevan.
Thank u G1ji,
ReplyDeleteYes ur understanding is correct bout the EMAs, i use.
I will try my best to keep SMO SAR as simple as i can :-)
For following this blog u need to go to the homepage of my blog, there u can see the "Follow" link on the left Top of the page.
